And I want to share my thoughts with you

New Years Motif

One of the online groups I am a part of have been discussing the idea of setting personal themes for the new year. Not resolutions, per se, and not generic ideas such as "drop 10 pounds", "run 10 miles", or "eat less chocolate"- more of a proposal, a guiding principle, a "motif", to help frame and shape what the next 12 months of life will look like.

I personally LOVE this idea.

I chose mine to be "Live with Intention". This will define what I do with my time, whether it's exchanging texts or calls with friends, working my business, decluttering and cleaning our home, playing with our kids, developing our basement, and everything else I tackle. I want to be fully present, intentionally doing what I choose to do in each moment. Have I described it in such a way as to make sense?

What are your thoughts for 2015? Do you typically set resolutions or goals? Do you have a key theme or phrase you are working at fixing in your mind?

I'd love to hear from you!
Happy New Year! -only 9 hours early :)

I love your theme! We all could benefit from attention to our intentions. I give myself a word for the upcoming year and use it to focus my attention on a particular area in my life. Last year my word was simplify. I did simplify a lot in my life by simply de-cluttering. Getting rid of all that extra stuff has lightened my spirit and created a more open flow in my life. My word this year is Create. I have put off my art f or years due to child rearing and lack of space. My children are now grown and I now have a dedicated space for anything I wish to create. Once my Christmas stuff is packed up and put away(by tomorrow afternoon) I am going to start "playing." I'm so excited to begin!

That sounds excellent, Terri-CA! I understand completely about child rearing and putting off your hobbies and passions. That's a wonderful word to greet 2015. Enjoy your space and freedom! Thanks for posting.
