Who else besides me hates having a sore throat? Hurts to swallow, you lose your voice, and so on. Here's a concoction to soothe that sore throat. It doesn't hurt that it has honey, fresh lemon and ginger, either. I can't say it will prevent or end your cold, but it does help you feel a little better, and I like to think that both lemon and ginger, both having a plethora of health benefits, may do some good as you struggle to fight that infection, and honey, even if you take what you read about it online with a grain of salt, is undeniably soothing.
I know after drinking a pot of that last night I slept really well and my throat is feeling much better today. Coincidence, maybe. Certainly worth a shot! 1 whole lemon A piece of fresh ginger root. How much doesn't matter- it's up to personal preference. Honey- the less processed, the better- a couple of generous spoonfuls. Boil a kettle full of water. While you wait, wash your lemon and ginger, and slice into a teapot. Add the boiled water, and sweeten with honey to taste. Best to drink hot, but tasty after it cools too. What are your favorite things to do to help your sore throat?

I love making a version of that honey, ginger, lemon tea too. And I drink a lot of plain hot water when I have a sore throat. And I find that gargling with listerine really helps to numb my throat and calm a cough. Hope you feel better soon!
