We had a friend over for Easter dinner last night. I didn't add enough colour to our meal, but other than that we enjoyed it. We had roasted potatoes, both regular and sweet. We also ate steamed peas, slow-cooker stuffing, and turkey, and gravy.
One thing I won't do again, though, is buy a butter-basted turkey. There was way too much fat in the pan and in the bird itself. I literally scooped a cup of fat off the top of the gravy, but there was still more I couldn't get out until it cooled and solidified. I used many sheets of paper towel to remove fat as I was slicing up the turkey, as well.
What do you serve for your typical Easter dinner?
